NORWOOD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 12, 2018--
Analog Devices (Nasdaq: ADI) was recently honored with the 2018
Sustainability Award from the Associated Industries of Massachusetts
(AIM), which recognizes companies for excellence in environmental
stewardship, promotion of social well-being and contributions to
economic prosperity. The award specifically acknowledges the Company’s
efforts to reduce its environmental footprint at its Wilmington, Mass.
facility, the site of the Company’s future global headquarters.
“At ADI, we’re building solutions for a better tomorrow, and that goes
beyond what we build to how we build them,” said Vincent Roche,
President and CEO, Analog Devices. “We’ve made a concerted effort to
reduce waste and minimize our environmental impact in our operations to
create a safer, healthier future for our employees, customers, and
neighbors. We’re constantly working to achieve our ambitious
sustainability goals and are honored to be recognized by AIM for our
efforts.”
In 2015, ADI implemented a cross-functional initiative focused on
improving energy and operational efficiency at its Wilmington location
by eliminating wasteful activities and updating older equipment. The
efforts to-date have yielded a 34 percent reduction in energy use, more
than $1 million of annual savings in electricity costs as well as a
spending reduction of 19 percent on chemicals that support manufacturing
operations. Additionally, it has cut its use of two solvents by 60
percent. ADI continues to progress toward achieving reduction targets
for greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste disposal and
electricity usage.
ADI, a leading global high-performance analog, mixed signal and digital
signal processing technology company, recently announced that its
Wilmington, Mass. campus would become its new global headquarters in
2020. Construction for the expansion includes two new LEED-certified
buildings that will incorporate cutting-edge energy-efficiency
technology and solar panels to support energy usage. The Company also
recently announced its commitment to double the amount of electric
vehicle charging stations by the end of the year.
ADI accepted the 2018 Sustainability Award at a Dec. 5th
ceremony on the Riverwalk in Lawrence, Mass. It is one of seven
Massachusetts-based companies to receive the prestigious accolade.
